Allie has sat on every side of the hiring table, recruiter, hiring manager, candidate, coach. She was employee #59 at Salesforce (front-row seat to an IPO and the growth that followed), built and led Box's Sales Recruiting team through its own scale-up, and has spent years since coaching professionals through layoffs, pivots, and promotions. She knows what actually happens behind the scenes of a hiring decision, and how to help someone position themselves to win.
She's also a serial builder. Beyond Insider For Hire, Allie has founded or co-founded several companies, including Ladies Who Launch, a home organization business focused on optimizing spaces for ADHD brains, and, inspired by her daughters' love of language, a family game built around words and communication.
A certified Human Design reflector (a rare type, and one that fits her perfectly, she reflects and refines the energy of everyone around her rather than pushing her own agenda), Allie brings a rare mix of systems thinking and genuine warmth to her coaching. She holds a BA in Speech Communication from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and has spent two decades turning that into the art of helping people, and companies, sound like who they really are.
At home, she's managing two kids, a small crew of cats, and an ever-growing list of ideas for what to build next.
Lauren's path into tech wasn't a straight line, and that's exactly why she's so good at helping other people navigate theirs. Growing up in the heart of Silicon Valley, she took the long way in: junior college, a stint studying fashion design, years in retail management, and a receptionist job at Box that turned into a 15-year career in SaaS sales, enablement, and training. She learned the business from the ground up, weathered layoffs and pivots of her own, and built a reputation as someone who could make complex tech sales strategy make sense to real humans, which is where Insider For Hire was born (that receptionist desk is also where she met Allie).
Lauren was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD later than most, after years of knowing school just felt harder for her than it seemed to for everyone else, with no explanation why. That experience shapes how she coaches today: she has a particular gift for working with people on non-linear paths, unconventional backgrounds, and anyone who's ever felt like they were doing it "wrong" simply because they were doing it differently.
Her approach is grounded and practical, but she's just as comfortable working with intuition and gut instinct as she is with a spreadsheet, she believes real career strategy needs both structure and soul.
Outside of client work, Lauren is usually stringing beads, chasing her two kids, or being told what to do by her dog and cat.
